First Installation & Upgrade are achieved in exactly the same way – It is recommended that you:

Make sure that you are not using SEN Diary |

If Upgrading to version 2.8 – by all means take your own security backup, but this is not necessary because one is done for you to SENDiary\Backup\Before_Upgrade |

Do not deviate from these instructions (especially if you are upgrading) |

Click the Download button below |

Select the Open, Run (or similar) button when presented with your browser’s download window – wait until the file has been downloaded |

When presented with the SEN Diary Setup Wizard |

Please accept the Licence Agreement |

Make sure that the Additional Icons are ticked if you would like a choice of shortcuts |

Otherwise, accept all the Default Options (several Next buttons and finally an Install button) |

If you’re not happy with the first installation, just repeat at any time – no harm can ever come to your Live data set |

If you’re installing SEN Diary on a network, read the (important message about networks) before launching SEN Diary |

When SEN Diary is first opened after installation or upgrade:

If you are the very first user of SEN Diary: You are asked to confirm that you are the Senco or SEN Administrator – if not: Click NO and log in again as Senco or Administrator before opening SEN Diary |

If this is not an Upgrade: Select the ‘Standard View’ |
| |
The Demo Data Set will appear – after exploration (if required) press the Live button at the top right of the display |

Always read the Welcome message first displayed when the application is opened after installation/upgrade |

If you have a problem, your first port of call should be the Hints & Tips |

Network users: Please read the ‘Read Me’ notes and see page 2 of the User Manual to find out how to improve the Set-Up |

SEN Diary always opens with the Demo Data Set. Press the Live button at the top right of the display to start the Test Drive or return to the Live Data Set after an Upgrade |

After Registering to use the Test Drive you will be presented with a yellow Set Up form – Complete the Required boxes and press the Use button at the top right of the form to start using SEN Diary |

To Open SEN Diary: If you asked for all the icons when installing, you can start it by one of the following:

Start>Programs>SEN Diary>SEN Diary |

Click the Quick Launch Icon (in the tray next to the start button – you may need to configure this on some systems) |
