The SEN Diary Plus Edition is intended for Schools

Both Network Editions are the same as SEN Diary Plus that can be run on a Network with either up to five concurrent users or an unlimited number

Individual Users can, with minimal training, be encouraged to write Menos to the Senco if necessary, they can be presented with their own sub-set of Pupils. |

Individual Users can be flagged as Read-only they will be able to Publish data but not change it. |

Split Senco Role
Each Senco is likely to have their own area of responsiblity for example: in a middle school one Senco may look after the needs of Pupils in Years 4 and 5 and the other, Years 6 and 7.
Two Views are set up which restrict the Pupil Summary to the respective years.

These can be locked if that is deemed appropriate in which case it will not be possible for the Senco to stray into the set of Pupils for whom they are not responsible. |

You can choose any combination of the columns in the Pupil summary to define which sub-set of pupils is seen in the View. |

You can Order the Pupils by up to four of any of the columns; and finally by Name for example, one Senco might find if useful to Order the Pupils by Mentor and SEN Stage; the other by Mentor and Gender (see examples above). Both Pupil Summary on the display and Published Check Lists will adopt the chosen order. |

The View that is current when SEN Diary is closed is the one that is seen when SEN Diary is opened. |
Views could also be used successfully by a single user where a different View could be useful at different times of the school year.
For example, you may like to have a pre-defined View for normal, every-day data entry and another when you are preparing reports at the end of the school year.

This is how it works:
- When a session is finished on the School PC, the Take-Away button is pressed and the Live Data Set copied automatically to a Flash Memory Stick/Pen.
- The Flash Memory Stick/Pen is then plugged into the Home PC and the Live Data Set is automatically copied onto the Home PC when SEN Diary is opened.
- The process is repeated to restore the Live Data Set onto the School Machine.
Read-only Installation
This can be set up in conjunction with Take Away but this need not necessarily be so.
This is how it works:
- When a session is closed the Live Data Set is always copied automatically to a Flash Memory Stick/Pen.
- The Flash Memory Stick/Pen is then plugged into the Read-only Installation and the Live Data Set is automatically copied onto it when SEN Diary is opened.
Write Memos to Senco
This is so easy to do it requires minimal training.
This is how it works:
- A member of staff opens SEN Diary onto their own sub-set of Pupils their own Class or Tutor Group, for example.
- A new diary entry is created by choosing the Pupils name from a drop-down list and the memo is typed in.
- The Done box is left unticked so that when the Senco next looks at SEN Diary, the item is flagged for attention no more need for little bits of paper and unsatisfactory conversations in the corridor.
